This booklet brings together the natural and human history of Peramagroon Mountain near Sulaimani. Drawing on biodiversity and socioeconomic surveys conducted between 2012 and 2015, it discusses the landscape, habitats, plants, wildlife, and livelihoods of local communities. It explains how farming, grazing, and woodland management have helped shape the mountain’s environment, while changes in land use create pressures on its biodiversity. The booklet provides an accessible starting point for understanding the relationship between conservation and everyday life in this mountain landscape.
