This species is active during both the night and daytime. It is a solitary species that makes burrows in the soil and beneath large rocks, usually with more than three entrances. It uses vocal calls for communication. The diet consists of rodents, arthropods, birds, reptiles, eggs, and fruits. In the KRI, this species is well known for preying on poultry, especially Kurdish hens and turkeys.
