Location
It has been recorded from Bamo Mountain in the Garmian area; Darbandikhan, Zarayan, and Penjween in Sulaimani Governorate; Shaqlawa and Pirmam in Erbil Governorate; Kani Mase and Amedi in Duhok Governorate; and Kirkuk Governorate. The species has also been recorded from the archaeological sites of Palegawra Cave, Shanidar Cave, and Jarmo. Governorate: Erbil; Sulaymaniyah; Duhok

It is a nocturnal species, occasionally active during the day. It digs burrows among rocks and under bushes, usually on slopes.
