This species is nocturnal and generally leaves its roost 15–20 minutes after sunset. It roosts singly, in male groups, or in maternity colonies. In the KRI, we observed individuals visiting small artificial pools to drink water shortly after sunset. Roost sharing with other bat species has also been recorded. It is an insectivorous species, and its diet primarily consists of flies, spiders, beetles, wasps, and bees. It typically flies close to the ground while foraging for prey.
