This species is primarily nocturnal after the breeding season. It can be found on tree branches, vegetations or under rocks in a wide range of habitats across the Kurdistan Region, from steppe areas to mountainous and forested regions. It can survive in very hot and dry environments and visits water bodies at night for rehydration. Males call during the mating season. Tadpoles are omnivorous, whereas adults are predators that primarily feed on insects and other small invertebrates.
